FPS Set to Embark on Visioning and Strategic Planning Process
The Executive Board of FPS has decided to initiate a Visioning and Strategic Planning process to shape the future of the organization. The objectives of the Visioning and Strategic Planning process are to evaluate the current mission and vision of the Society, analyze the current scope of FPS, and outline the services, products, and other benefits a redefined Society might offer that can appeal to a broad membership base. We expect the process to result in short- and long-term strategic actions to position FPS for a sustainable future.
To kick off that process, on Saturday, June 19 the Executive Board will be meeting with a small group of interested Society leaders in Madison, Wisconsin to begin planning for the future. This meeting will be followed by a session on Sunday, June 20 open to all (members and non-members), immediately preceding the 64th International Convention. If you would like to be included in the Saturday afternoon meeting, please contact John Shelly, President or Stefan Bergmann, Executive Vice President.
Following the International Convention, an online survey will be distributed to members and non-members to assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing FPS. We expect to hold additional in-person and online (webinar) meetings over the course of the summer and early fall to collect additional perspectives, review the information gathered, and develop strategic action plans.
To facilitate data gathering, we have also created a subgroup of the FPS LinkedIn group dedicated to focused discussion on visioning and strategic planning. Join the LinkedIn subgroup today and share your ideas.
